kak_freedom_tightKevin is a playwright and screenwriter originally from North Dakota. He holds an MFA in Creative Writing from the Michener Center for Writers at the University of Texas at Austin. He writes urgent and diverse plays defined by story, poetics, unique structures and theatricality.

For his plays he has been awarded a Jerome Fellowship at the Playwrights’ Center, the Michener Fellowship, scholarships to the Sewanee and Kenyon Institute conferences, and the Kernodle New Play and International Student Playscript Competition awards. He has been a finalist for the Pen Center and Yale Drama Series awards, among others. He lives in New York and is represented by Max Grossman at Abrams.
